These are a great French bread-style pizza that one member of the AV team was addicted to for a long time. Sprinkle these with a tablespoon of rosemary, a half teaspoon of ginger, and a few diced tomatoes and black olives then pop in the oven. Great for munching on while reading the Sunday paper in bed. |
You are gonna love this stuff! They have a mild flavor and meat-like texture and come pre-cooked, so all you really have to do is heat them up. We have tried them in a stir fries, pasta salads, "shake-n-bakes," and as popcorn "chicken" bites, and in every case they have proven a winner. You can pick these up in Krogers in the freezer section (they're near the frozen breakfast stuff). |
Amy's do a nice selection of vegan products, including the most widely distributed vegan frozen pizza. Amy's Roasted Vegetable Pizza has no cheese and all the other ingredients are vegan. Here at Arkansas Vegan we usually doctor them up with extra rosemary, ginger, Spike, and grate some of the Vegan Gourmet faux cheese on top. Ummmmm.... They usually cost around $6.50, so they're a lot cheaper and faster than delivery without cheese too! And yes, you can get these in Kroger! |

We went on a craze for a couple weeks with these, making lots of good sandwich combinations, then had even them chopped up in stir fries and diced into wraps. Favorite way to prepare these was to heat 1 tsp olive oil in a pan, add 1 tsp of rosemary leaves to oil and fry for 30 seconds, then add thawed Chick'n'Patties and fry for a couple of minutes on each side. Cut thick slices of fresh French bread, wipe with Vegenaise, sprinkle with Cavenders or Spike, add tomato slices and a cluimp of sprouts. |
These can be used in place of ground beef in any recipe - chili, lasagna, tacos, sloppy joes, spaghetti sauce, you name it. It tastes pretty good; add oil for texture and spice for flavor and your non-vegan friends and family will enjoy it too. |
These make a great barbeque sandwich!! The sauce is more sweet than zesty, so have a little corn bread on the side to help mop up. |
These are great - the sauce is darn tasty and a nice heat. These are so close to lightly breaded boneless chicken wings that our meat-eating friends enjoy them too. Update: the manufacturer has stopped making these - get them while you can! |
