Celebrate!
Every day is a holiday somewhere in the world, and every day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our compassionate lifestyle.
Ireland
King Brian? Yup, in about 1014, so long before Monty Python came along. There are about 4 million people in Ireland, some of whom may remember life before independence from Britain in 1921.
March 17: Ireland: St. Patricks Day

What a great day to be vegan - it's all about the green! Not many things could be more Irish than a nice big pot of vegan corned "beef" and cabbage! That's right, not only do vegans NOT miss out on the traditional grub, our's is MUCH healthier!

There are some people that will say you have to have a Guiness on St Patrick's Day; feel free to tell those people that you wouldn't wash your car with the stuff (it's not vegan). There are plenty of other options; substitute with one of these vegan beers.

Ever wondered what it's like to be a vegan in Ireland? Learn more here and here. We're sure you'll find that that whether they're in Dublin, Ireland or in Dublin, Arkansas, vegans everywhere face many of the same challenges.
Sweden
9 million people ruled by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Prime Minister Goran Persson. Very cool place: Sweden has 265 FM radio stations (lots of music) but only 1 AM station (talk).
March 25: Sweden: Waffle Day

This week we travel to Sweden for Våffeldagen, or Waffle Day. The Swedish people were on to such a good thing that this holiday has since blossomed into International Waffle Day, and speaking as waffle lovers we would like to extend a hearty handshake to whomever it was, way back when, that made some waffles on March 25th that were soooooo good people decided they had to do this every single year.

Is there a waffle iron in your house? If so, here's an easy vegan waffle recipe to try. We noted that the comments below the recipe indicate that using a bit less oil make the waffles fluffier. Hmm...

No waffle iron? No worries! There are lots of vegan frozen waffles to choose from. Vans Waffles and
Lifestream Waffles
are examples of generally good choices and come in several varieties. The best part is that you may not have to go to Wild Oats in Little Rock for them; some Krogers carry them and will order them for you if they don't have them on the shelf allready.
